I am an academician interested in teaching, research and consultancy. My area of interest is in design and understanding the behavior of reinforced concrete buildings and bridges. I specialize on condition assessment and strengthening of concrete structures. This includes analyzing and developing innovative designs for repair and rehabilitation of existing as well as design of new structures.
Before joining academia, I was working as a design engineer at STRUCTURAL Inc., USA for little more than 2 years. Before that, I completed my PhD from Missouri University of Science and Technology. My PhD research focused on behavior of reinforced concrete columns under combined loading including torsion. Through my academic and professional activities, I have obtained experience in concrete design and retrofitting and rehabilitation using advanced composite systems. I have good understanding of various international codes & standards and relevant company standards to accommodate the project specific requirements.
I have participated in many international conferences and had the opportunity to present and publish a variety of technical papers in the field of reinforced concrete columns and strengthening of masonry structures with FRP composites. I have authored and co-authored about 70 refereed journal publications.
