I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. Here, I lead the Data-Driven Intelligence & Learning Laboratory (DiL). My office (214E) is located in the C-block.
Before this, I held a postdoctoral position at the Visual Computing Group (VICO) lead by Dr. Hakan Bilen at the University of Edinburgh, UK. I did my PhD at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, where I was advised by Prof. R. Venkatesh Babu.
My thesis won the IUPRAI Best Doctoral Dissertation Award and the SPCOM Best Doctoral Dissertation Award for the year 2018.
I like to play Cricket and Badminton. I prefer to read short stories, and occasionally write in Telugu. Here is the collection of my writings.
I want to build Robust and Explainable AI systems that understand information and draw useful inferences as humans do. I work in the area of applied Machine Learning (Particularly, Deep Learning) to solve some of the interesting and challenging AI tasks (e.g. Computer Vision, NLP, etc.).
Summary of Expertise: My research broadly lies in Machine Learning (especially Deep Learning), Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Image/Signal Processing, Data Science & Engineering, and Optimization. Please visit our lab page to know more about our research..
