This chapter is an endeavor to provide the valuable information on the role of heterogeneous catalysis in the green synthesis of chemicals for sustainable future. Heterogeneous catalysis plays a key role in the development of technology for the production of green chemicals from biomass-derived platform chemicals under environmentally benign processes. Thus, there is an increasing requirement for more environmentally and ecofriendly technologies for various industries. Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is a premier institute of science and technology established in 2008.
