We report a two step process for the synthesis of porous Cuprous Oxide (Cu2O) on Copper (Cu) foil. In first step Cu foil heated in air ambient to form CuO nanorods and in second step heated in argon environment to form porous microstructure of Cu2O. The structure, morphology and phase of the as-synthesized porous Cu2O are analyzed by various techniques such as Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman Spectroscopy. © 2011 American Institute of Physics.
