Abstract
We have investigated the structural, magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in LaMnSbO0.8F0.2. The compound has the ZrCuSiAs-type structure with P4/nmm space group. For a field change of 0-5T, the maximum entropy change (-ΔSM) is calculated to be 0.074Jkg-1K by using the Maxwell's relations from the magnetic isotherms. The relative cooling power was increasing from 0.67 to 3.74Jkg-1 with the increases of magnetic field changes from 0-1 to 0-5T. The observed reversible MCE is related to a second-order magnetic phase transition. © 2015 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
