The solubilities of dodecanoic acid (lauric acid) and tetradecanoic acid (myristic acid) in supercritical carbon dioxide without entrainers and with two entrainers, namely, ethanol and isoamyl alcohol (3-methyl-1-butanol), were determined at (308 and 318) K from (9.9 to 22.6) MPa. The solubility data were correlated with a thermodynamic model based on the Peng-Robinson equation of state with one binary interaction parameter. © 2008 American Chemical Society.
