Abstract
Despite being the world's third-largest emitter of Carbon Dioxide, India's ambitious pledge at the Conference of Parties (COP-26) to attain Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2070 needs to be backed by a concrete action plan. This paper highlights the various options available with an Electric Vehicle (EV) owner to charge the vehicle at the residence. Choosing the best available option as per the owners' convenience will not only reduce the financial burden but also increase the efficiency of the grid by effectively addressing the critical issues such as 'peak shaving' and 'valley filling' as the number of EVs on the road increase in days to come. In the long run, this reduces the emission of Green House Gases(GHG) and carbon footprint. These proposals are backed with the results obtained from MATLAB simulation and sound calculations. © 2022 IEEE.
