A simple high yielding and highly efficient synthesis of oxazoline ring fused with uracil moiety is reported. Hypervalent iodine (PIDA) in the presence of BF3-OEt2generates an effective electrophile to activate uracil C5-C6 double bond leading to heterocyclization. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
