This paper deals with a solar water pumping system consisting of a high gain zeta converter and Brushless dc (BLDC) motor. The converter has all the merits of conventional zeta converter and additional advantage of high voltage gain and less voltage stress. A battery storage system is also employed to make the system reliable. So irrespective of the climatic conditions constant water supply is obtained. Also, the battery can be charged by the solar photovoltaic array (SPV) when pumping is not required. So there is no need for an external power supply for charging the battery. A bidirectional buck-boost dc-dc converter is used for the charging and discharging of battery. The performance analysis of the system has been carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK platform. © 2021 IEEE.
