The need for infrastructure is fundamental, uniting all of mankind with the common goal to provide shelter, water resources and transportation systems. Natural resources, environmental conditions and socioeconomics, however, create a disparity in the ability to provide adequate, sustainable and affordable infrastructure for the worlds populations. Among today's infrastructure materials options are modern engineered high performance cement-based concrete composites (HPCBCC). On January 4th and 5th, a US contingent of twelve researchers met with twenty one of their counterparts from India to share research findings, discuss the HPCBCC state-of-the-art in both countries and to identify research needs.
