Abstract

Aromatic acylation is an indispensable chemical transformation in organic synthesis in affording aryl ketones. In this manuscript, we have described the synthesis of aromatic ketones utilizing graphene oxide (GO) supported PdO nanoparticles (PdO/GO), as heterogeneous transition metal catalyst. The [Pd]-heterogeneous catalyst enabled the coupling between iodoarenes and aromatic aldehydes. The acylation was carried out by eliminating toxic CO gas as the source of the carbonyl. Further, practicality of this strategy was also demonstrated by fusing 1,3-dihydroisobenzofurans. © 2020 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
