1,6-Conjugate addition of variety of amines and phenols to cyclohexadienone derivative 1 directly leading to aryl benzyl amines and aryl benzyl ethers in excellent yield has been reported. The reaction proceeds via a sequential Michael type addition followed by aromatization. This methodology allows a facile and efficient synthesis of functionalized aryl benzyl amines and aryl benzyl ethers under mild conditions. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
