Acoustic analysis of extended inlet/extended outlet concentric tube resonator using Green’s function

Abstract
An analytical method is established by using the Green’s function for the acoustic analysis of concentric tuber resonator having extended inlet/extended outlet. The walls of the chamber are assumed to be acoustically rigid except at the inlet and outlet ports where they are treated as hypothetical rigid pistons moving with uniform velocity. The extended portions of the chamber are treated as annular resonators of finite length. The Green’s function is developed as the summation of modal eigenfunctions of a circular duct with wall compliance. By using the principle of superposition, the total pressure acting on each piston is evaluated. Thence, a transfer matrix is formulated to calculate the transmission loss of the chamber.
