Abstract
A numerical study was performed to determine the rate of evaporation of gasoline while flowing through an inclined two-dimensional channel. The flow was considered to be stratified two-phase flow. The volume-of-fluid (VOF) multiphase model was used to simulate the two-phase flow. A continuous thermodynamics approach was used to solve the species equations. A parametric study was done to determine the effect of inlet liquid velocity, channel exit pressure, and angle of inclination on gasoline vapor generation.
